I travelled to Los Angeles to study with some of the best painters in the world. I took classes, workshops and painted everyday.

At first I struggled, but after many failures and few small wins, color was finally starting to click. Within a few months of consistent practice, and applying my new knowledge, my color and paintings improved dramatically!

Eventually my work started to get noticed which led to more and more opportunities, including getting published in books, magazines and painting commissions.

What's Inside the Class?

This class will give you the tools, techniques and guidance to go from boring grayscale to full color digital paintings. Each week you will be guided through essential and powerful topics to help you build your color skills. Along with the lessons and demonstrations, students will have lifetime access to additional course materials like references, handouts, study guides and a private Discord community to interact with the instructor and fellow classmates.

Week 1 - The Eye of the Painter

Frequently Asked Questions

>What if I can’t make the live class?
Students are highly encouraged to join the class live to get the most out of the experience. However, if a student can not make a live class, the replay of the lecture will be made available and students will have unlimited access to all replays and course materials.

>How is this class different from the Laws of Color course?

The Laws of Color course is a great resource for self study. Color For Digital Artists is a much more in-depth and intensive experience. Students will have over 2 hours of instruction and content every week for 4 consecutive weeks.

LIVE students can also interact directly with the instructor and classmates and receive personalized critiques of their homework and studies to help them learn the material and improve much more rapidly.

>If I use Procreate or other digital painting apps can I still take the class?

Yes, definitely. This class is focused on color principles and color mixing techniques, so the information will apply to all digital painting apps. For the first time, there will be demonstrations in both Photoshop and Procreate.

>I am a traditional artist, can I still take the class?

Yes. Because this workshop is focused on color principles and mixing techniques, the information applies to all painting mediums.

However, the medium used in the demonstrations will be Photoshop and Procreate so at least an intermediate level with these or other digital painting apps is required.

> I’m a total beginner, should I take the class?

Although the class will focus on color and painting, the demonstrations and homework assignments will require at least an intermediate level of drawing skill. Students should be able to comfortably draw realistic heads, faces, figures and basic perspective.

Hi my name Chris Legaspi. I’m a long time professional illustrator with over 15 years of experience. My notable projects and clients include Lord of the Rings, Deadpool 2, Birds of Prey, Shaft, Luke Cage, Marvel, Disney and Warner Bros. Pictures.

Along with my professional experience, I have a passion for teaching and helping others. I’m committed to mentoring students who are serious about achieving their artistic and professional goals and dreams.
